The Contrecœur Terminal makes Canada less dependent on U.S. ports. It will boost the use of Canadian steel and provide access to over a billion consumers through free trade agreements.
If just 6% of Canadian exports went somewhere other than the United States, the Port of Montreal would be full.
Without the Contrecœur Terminal, our businesses would have to use American ports, which would weaken Canada’s supply chain and result in a loss of economic benefits here.
